Tiryaka Tadasana is a yoga asana that involves stretching and centralizing of body. This asana works wonders in massaging, stretching and toning the sides of your waist and establishing balance and hence harmony in your body. Tiryaka Tadasana is one of the asanas that are recommended in Shankha Prakshalana, a system of purification designed to cleanse the entire alimentary canal for good health.
Instructions:
1. Place your feet 2 feet apart, and gaze steadily toward a point directly in front of you.
2. Lace your fingers and turn your hands inside out.
3. Breathe in, and reach your arms overhead.
4. While releasing your breath, bend sideways to the left from the waist without bending forward or backward or twisting your trunk.
5. Stay here for a couple of seconds with your breath out.
6. Breathe in slowly and come up.
7. Do the same movement on the right hand side.
8. Exhale lowering the arms to sides from standing position and complete one round.
9. Repeat this sequence 5-10 times.
